Michele Raye was born in Lethbridge, Alberta Canada. Playing guitar since the age of 8, she excelled at classical guitar winning awards at festivals throughout her youth.

After high school, she attended the jazz studies program, majoring in guitar, at Grand MacEwen Community College in Edmonton where her musical career began with the duo Precious with Nora Berg.

Many bands and a solo career followed. As western Canada’s only “One Woman Rock ‘N Roll Road Show” she played resorts and hotels throughout BC and Alberta. 

As a member of country duo The Forget Me Nots, with Rachael Schrvers, she performed at BC’s Merritt Mountain Music Festival and in several TV spots for BCTV and Crime Stoppers. 

3 months in Dubai, UAE, with the band the Good Life was the highlight of 1996.

The 2001 release of her CD Step Inside was followed by numerous television  and festival appearances.  

Michele is a regular at the Harmony Arts Festival Fountain Stage in West Vancouver, the Vancouver Sun Run, and the Scotiabank Half Marathon.

Michele is also a regular performer at Soul Space, Tuesdays 6:15 pm at Christ Church Cathedral, Vancouver.  See Calendar for dates.

Michele is presently writing and recording new material.  Her latest love is nylon string  smooth latin jazz, in addition to all other varieties of music.
